- Parkston School District 33-3
- Office of the Superintendent
-
I am currently serving my 18th and last year as Superintendent of Schools for the Parkston School District. At the close of this year, I will be retiring from education. I have been a school administrator for 27 of my 31 year career. During this time, things have changed dramatically. One consistent however are the children. I have been truly blessed to have been entrusted with the education of so many children over the years. I am humbled with the experience.
My career began in August of 1990 when I taught history, government, economics, computer and coached football and basketball, for the Hecla School District, Hecla, South Dakota. I spent one year in Hecla before moving to Frederick. In Frederick, I spent three years teaching and coaching and also earning my Master’s Degree in School Administration from Northern State University. I took my first administrative job with the Sully Buttes School District. I served as the secondary principal and athletic director. I spent nine years in Sully Buttes, earning my Specialist Degree in School District Administration from the University of South Dakota. For the last five years, I served as the Superintendent of Schools. My next job brought me to Parkston, who has had only three Superintendents over the last 50 years.
During this last year, Molly and I are making a new home in Sioux Falls. I am blessed with four children and am looking forward to taking a few months of retirement before looking for a second career, something that does not include checking roads at 4 am!
Thank you for visiting. Once the district begins their search for my replacement, you will find additional information regarding the search on this page.
