First off ... Summer art camp is almost full! So if you are still filling out that paper please get it in ASAP before I have to cut off for the year!
As kids clean out lockers and you tackle the house, don’t throw away that treasure—donate it to the Parkston Art Department!
We’re happily accepting gently used or leftover school supplies, including:
Markers
Crayons
Glue sticks & Elmer’s glue
Scissors
Rulers
Erasers
Pencils
Incomplete decks of cards
Just about ANY school supply!
PLUS—we’re all about the crafty extras!
As you clean this summer, please consider donating:
Craft & scrapbooking supplies
Yarn, ribbon, washi tape
Sticker books & adult coloring books
Magazines (for collage fun!)
Paintbrushes, all sizes
Hot glue sticks & glue guns
Rolling pins, forks, spoons (perfect for clay and texture tools!)
AND—we're still collecting:
Plastic caps (any size or color—milk jugs, soda bottles, etc.) please clean
Cereal boxes (please flatten them)—we use the cardboard for tons of creative projects! We have new hands on tools coming for STEAM activities!
New this year: If your child doesn't need to haul all those supplies home, a donation box will be set outside the art room during locker clean-out days! Let them know they can lighten their load and support student creativity at the same time.
Your donations help inspire over 400 student artists each week and truly make a difference. Thank you for supporting the arts in Parkston!

CAN DRIVE - Starts TOMORROW! Reminder FCCLA is sponsoring a can collection May 17-23rd. A trailer will be parked at Parkston Food Center. Proceeds will help fund national competition in Orlando, FL for FCCLA members this July!

We missed an important award last Thursday. The Orange "P" is awarded to the students that participate in 3 different sports for all 4 years of high school. It is our way of honoring highly involved student-athletes. As we were combing through the 4 years, we somehow missed that Breckin Culbert had earned this prestigious award. We APOLOGIZE!! We want to make sure he gets the recognition he is due. Congrats to Breckin Culbert and Thank You for your commitment to the Football, Wrestling, and Track programs!!

The track team had a great day at Parker today! The girls broke two school records and tied another! New school records were-
Lauren Ziebart - 200m - 26.29
Keeara Oakley - Javelin - 103'5"
And the girls 4x100 Relay tied the school record with a 51.65.
Members were Rory Juhnke, Rachel Klock, Berkley Ziebart, Lauren Ziebart. Congrats to the new school record holders!
Both boys and girls won Team Titles today also along with setting FOUR Meet Records! Great work!
The SESD Conference Meet is Tuesday at Winner!
TEACHER SIGNING DAY 2025! The PHS Educators Rising Chapter hosted the 3rd Annual Teacher Signing Day with two high school seniors, Aida Mikkonen and Myah Moege, signing an education pledge as the commit to entering into the education field. Aida will be attending Augustana University major in Elementary Education and Myah Moege will attend Southeast Technical College to become an Early Childhood Specialist. We are so proud of the teachers PHS is growing!
TONIGHT!! Come bring in Summer at our final concert of the year. The 5-12th Grade POPs Concert & Music Awards in the Armory at 7:00pm. The concert will be livestreamed.
