HOSA is putting on a food drive to help stock the food pantry for this season of thankfulness. Did you know that 25-30 families are blessed by our local pantry? Help HOSA give back to the community in this time of thanksgiving. HOSA members who donate will receive points! (See Mrs. Bartells!) Incentive: The class in grades 6-12 that donates the largest percentage of items wins cupcakes!

Another great day for the Parkston FFA Chapter today!! 17 students have been working on different LDE’s (leadership development events) for the past few months and yesterday they competed at the District 4 competition in Mitchell! Parliamentary Procedure (Gage Reichert, Quayden Culbert, Elliott Leischner, Hilary Polreis, Alyssa Weisz, Kahris Tapio) placed 2nd and Advanced to State! Conduct of Chapter Meetings/Junior Parliamentary Procedure (Aiden Overby, Carson Bueber, Cale Weber, Lizzy Schoenfelder, Gage Jodozi, Mason Jervik, Izzy Leischner) placed 2nd and Advanced to State! Ag Broadcasting (Elle Goehring and Brooklyn Wagner). Brooklyn placed 5th and Elle placed 3rd. Elle Advanced to State! Emily Walz placed 12th in Prepared Public Speaking. Grace Lindeman placed 2nd in Employability Skills and Advanced to State! Izzy Leischner and Kahris Tapio competed in Creed Speaking, Kahris placed 4th and is alternate to state, Izzy placed 13th. Congratulations on all of your hard work, looking forward to Rapid City in December!

The Parkston Winter Sport Meeting will be held tomorrow night at 7:00 in the armory. This meeting is for parents and athletes grades 6-12 who will be participating in a winter sport. -Reminder-- any athletes that did not participate in a Fall sport need to register online and have a current physical and concussion test on file.

The school hosted our community Veteran's Day Program this morning and what a great event it was! Thank you to everyone that came and everyone that helped organize the event. Our very own Mrs. Bartelt was the guest speaker, Mrs. Meyer was announced as the VFW Teacher of the Year, our Patriot's Pen and Voice of Democracy Essay Winner's spoke, and our band and choir performed. Parkston School District would like to say THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE to all the Veterans and Active Military members on this Veteran's Day weekend.

Congratulations to the FFA Vet Science Team on their awesome performance at the National Competition last week! They placed 14th Overall and received a Silver ranking (just ONE place away from gold!)! Individually Taylor Fink received a gold ranking, and Grace Lindeman, Kiauna Hargens, and Ashlyn Tapio each received silver.

Trojan Football Update: There will be a Pep Rally on 11/9 at 2:20 in the armory. All are welcome! The State Championship Game vs. Howard starts at 7:00pm. The doors to the Dakota Dome open at 6:00pm. Everyone should wear BLUE!! We will do a welcome home event for the football team on Sunday, the 12th, at 2:00pm in the armory. GO TROJANS!!!

FOOD DRIVE! This week the Elementary School will be participating in a Food Drive to help stock the shelves of our local food pantry. This drive will also be a competition between groups, averaging the groups (to keep them equal:)Group 1- Preschool, Beg., Kind. Group 2- First and Second Grade. Group 3: 3rd, 4th and 5th Grade. The items donated have different point values. We look forward to a fun, competitive week!

Don’t forget to join some awesome and hardworking FFA Members in the high school library TONIGHT as they showcase the contests they have been practicing! This would be the perfect time to come and learn more about what our chapter members do since spectators are not allowed to watch us on the actual competition day. Come and see all of the hard work they are putting in before the big competition day next Monday!
