Avera St. Benedict Health Center has partnered with the Parkston Commercial Club and is now in the running to bring a free outdoor music series to Parkston, set to begin in 2026.
With funding from the Levitt Foundation — a national social impact funder at the intersection of music, public space, and community building that supports the largest free outdoor concert series in America —Parkston hopes to qualify as a finalist to receive a Levitt Music Series Grant. You can help support Avera St. Benedict Health Center/Parkston Commercial Club’s proposal by participating in the public voting process, via online or text to vote, taking place from 12 p.m. (CT) Sept. 5, to 7 p.m. (CT) Sept. 15.
An individual may submit one vote for up to five proposals of their choosing. There are two easy ways for the public to cast their ballot: online at levitt.org/vote or via text to 877-409-5525 with the keyword “PARKSTON”.

The School Board has voted to reappoint Jill Neubel to the school board to fill the two-year term vacated due to a resignation. Thanks to Stacey Thury for her interest in the position as well.

The annual "Cheeseball Open" was held today at the Parkston Golf Course. SIXTY-TWO J.V. and Middle School golfers from 8 schools competed. In the JV division, our own Briar Frederick earned 5th place with a 42! In the Middle School Division, Tucker Hockett earned 4th with a 44 and Cooper Sommer earned second place with a 39!
A very big thank you to the Parkston Golf Course, Jayson Bogenreif, and Coach Hockett for making this event possible!

Trojan Den News!
Last week at the Club Fair, our 6th–12th grade Trojan students got a quick introduction to the Trojan Den! Students can sign up to be members, help out when they can, or even run for open officer positions such as President or Treasurer.

Servant Leadership put into action today! Our senior class rolled up their sleeves and got to work finishing the rock landscaping around the new picnic shelter in the park. They worked hard and had fun! Give a thanks to one of them when you see them!!
